Artwork:
This movie poster, an original work by French artist Jean Jacquelin, is a graphic masterpiece of the film noir genre, using a striking blend of stylized illustration and dramatic aesthetics. The design features bold, almost Art Deco-style figures set against the moody backdrop of the Antwerp harbor, a common setting for poetic realism films. It masterfully employs stark color contrasts and silhouettes to capture the film's tense, fatalistic mood, with a prominent portrait of a young Simone Signoret.
