This print painted by artist Kerne Erickson depicts the vineyards near the Tres Hermanas Vineyards winery and oak studded foothills located on Foxen Canyon Road in the Santa Maria Valley AVA. The Santa Maria Valley AVA was established in 1981, the soils are mostly sand with a little clay, called Sandy Loam. Because the Santa Maria Valley AVA is unobstructed to the oceans influence, this keeps the climate cool for the growing season. This AVA is best known for Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay.
